Black Sangria
Serving up a spooky but tasty libation for Halloween does not have to be complicated or complex. Black Sangria is a simple yet delicious drink that will please any guest or ghoul.
There is nothing difficult about this intoxicating Sangria and there is plenty to go around. Double the batch if necessary. You can make it hours before your guests arrive. Made with deep, dark red wine, like Vintners Cellar Barolo, a wine that is robust, dry, and full-bodied. The addition of juicy black fruit gives a chilling and mysterious twist to this Sangria.
Typically, red wine is not served chilled but, in this case, a good chill makes this drink bloodcurdling. This black cocktail will be a terrifying hit with any witch, ghost, or goblin.
Ingredients:
1 (750 ml) of full-bodied red wine
2 cups of blackberries
4 black plums, sliced
2 cups of black grapes
¼ cup of brandy
Instructions:
Add all the ingredients into a large pitcher and stir to mix.
Let sit is the refrigerator for 1 to 2 hours, allowing the flavours to develop.
Keep the Sangria refrigerated between servings.
